Whether you’ve been through it yourself or seen a loved one go through it, you know how hard addiction is to fight.
So many successful counselors are in recovery themselves or are close to someone who has or is experiencing active addiction.
Because of their own experiences, sometimes, counselors can empathize and show the patients that they can relate.
Imagine this: when someone you’ve worked with reports back to you that you helped them stay clean so they can go to work, provide for their family, be with their loved ones again, and start a new chapter in life, would it be a gratifying feeling?
If the thought of this gives you a satisfactory feeling, then a career in Addiction Counseling might just be the right fit for you.

Hi, I’m Rick and I’m the founder of Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies Institute. At ADCS Institute, We help aspiring addiction counselors to become certified.
ADCSI is my endeavor and a sincere step in the direction to make alcohol and drug counselor studies more accessible financially and time-wise, without sacrificing quality.
My career in addiction and drug counseling has helped me feel fulfilled and find meaning in my unique story
I want my students to know that I have a similar story to many of them and went from dealing with a personal disability to active addiction, to professional addiction studies student to working in treatment as a residential counselor, outpatient, and DUI facilitator to now owning my own school.
My goal at ADCSI is to provide experience and expertise for people who are driven to make an impact in their communities through substance abuse disorder counseling. And to help our students to become certified and develop growth opportunities within the profession.
